We’re Still Here: Why Women’s History Month Still Matters

At one point, you could look at a company calendar and see Women’s History Month clearly acknowledged—maybe with an event, a quote, or even a mention in passing. This year, for some of us, that visibility was removed. Silenced. Deprioritized.

It’s not a coincidence.

We’re living in a time where progress is being actively rolled back. Where DEI programs are being gutted. Where the mere act of acknowledging underrepresented voices is met with discomfort, scrutiny, or silence. Where “feminism” and “equity” are framed as threats instead of necessities.

But here’s the truth: we’re still here. And we’re not going anywhere.

While the official boxes may have been unchecked and the celebrations stripped from the schedule, the stories don’t stop. The work doesn’t pause. And our voices—individually and collectively—are still rising.

This Women’s History Month, I launched a 6-part podcast series called HerStory Unfolds—a caffeinated, commentary-rich journey through the timeline of women’s rights in America, from 1701 to 2023. I released each episode during the final six days of March, not just as a tribute to the women who came before us, but as an act of resistance. As an offering. As a reminder.

Because feminism is not a bad word.

Because DEI is not shameful—it’s a thoughtful, essential framework for building stronger, more inclusive systems.

Because representation matters.

Because equality should not be controversial.

I created this series to celebrate and educate. To remind people why feminism exists in the first place, and why so many of us continue to advocate—not just for ourselves, but for the generations of people who haven’t yet recognized the importance of that fight.

We do this to keep the fire alive. To protect the rights that have been hard-won and to fight back against the erosion of progress dressed up as “policy” or “preference.”

If you’re feeling like your voice doesn’t matter, or like no one’s listening: I see you.

You’re not alone.

And your voice? It matters more than ever.

Let’s keep showing up. Keep educating. Keep sharing.

And keep reminding the world: we’re still here—and we’re just getting louder.

With cawfee, courage, and community,

Sara, TheLuvjonze
